Physical Therapist - Contract

Location: Modesto, CA

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy.

• At least one year of experience in a school setting or serving school-aged students with disabilities.

• A Master’s degree in physical therapy.

• Valid physical therapy license from the State of California.

• Registration with the American Physical Therapy Board of California.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Proof of insurance if using your own vehicle.

Job Description

• Work with students with disabilities and serious health impairments to analyze risk and problem-solve effectively.

• Assess students' orthopedic status, quality of movement, postural control, and gross motor functioning.

• Establish realistic goals and design and implement a program for each student.

• Monitor and assess physical therapy services and programs for educational effectiveness and operational efficiency.

• Assist in the development of students' IEPs, including goal development.

• Attend meetings and assist IEP teams in identifying the physical therapy needs of the students.

• Provide consultative assistance and training to the classroom teacher and other staff.

• Communicate with outside service providers and/or medical personnel about students' progress.

• Plan and conduct a system of continuous evaluation of each student's progress.

• Recommend adjustments in the school environment when needed.

• Train staff to lift, move, and position students with disabilities up to age 22.
