Registered Nurse - Contract

Location: Nashua, NH

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Hampshire.

  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.

  • Knowledge of pediatric healthcare practices, including medication administration, first aid, and emergency response.

  • Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and staff members.

  • Proficient computer skills, including electronic health record management and basic office software.

  • CPR and First Aid certification (current).

  • Willingness to collaborate as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.

Job Description

  • Provide direct healthcare services to students, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for acute and chronic medical conditions.

  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to safety guidelines.

  • Monitor and manage student health records, including immunization records, health histories, and individual healthcare plans (IHPs) as needed.

  • Collaborate with school personnel, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific medical needs.

  • Conduct health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, and coordinate referrals for further evaluation or treatment when necessary.

  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate first aid, CPR, and other necessary interventions as required.

  • Educate students, staff, and parents/guardians on health-related topics, including disease prevention, nutrition, and general wellness.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all healthcare services provided, including incident reports, medication administration records, and health-related communications.

  • Collaborate with the school's multidisciplinary team to support students with disabilities and provide accommodations as outlined in their individualized education plans (IEPs).

  • Stay informed about current health regulations, best practices, and emerging trends in school nursing, continually seeking professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
